Ilia Kukin

I have several years of experience in data protection law. I gained my first practical insights into the implementation of data protection regulations in companies during my studies in the data protection department of an international energy company. There I was involved in the development and implementation of the data protection management system and dealt with internal guidelines and risk assessments. My work also focused on legal research into data protection requirements in the EU and the legal situation in countries such as the UK, the USA, Russia, Singapore and Switzerland.

I studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at King's College London, specializing in English Law. During my legal clerkship, I worked in the sanctions department of the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. There I got to know the procedures and decision-making processes from the perspective of the supervisory authority and was able to gain a deeper insight into the official practice of data protection enforcement from an administrative perspective. I have been a fully qualified lawyer since May 2025.
